Overview

This customized connection cable is made for charging and syncing between Lafos and your phone. It has sets of unique chips built into the tip to ensure video, audio and control signals can stream simultaneously. We made one end of the connector different on purpose so our users won't mistakenly use the wrong cable and have to question if the device malfunctioned.

Does Lafos support both iPhone and Android phone?

Yes. But they are physically two different models, one for each type. The current models of Lafos support them separately.

Is Lafos compatible with my iPhone?

What's the difference between Lafos for iPhone 5-14 series and Lafos for iPhone 5-15 series?

Since the iPhone 15 series models have a USB-C connector, Lafos for iPhone 5-15 series has an extra customized connection cable included (The connection cable for iPhone 5-14 series is also included).

Is Lafos compatible with my Android phone?

Lafos is compatible with most Android phones that have properly designed Type-C ports and have Android 5 or above installed.

All Android phone models would require an app installation and authorization to connect for the first time. After the app is installed, Lafos becomes plug-and-play.

Depending on its computing power, some older models may experience lag due to the lack of performance. This issue generally occurs on really old models. If the phone itself is slow, it will be slow with Lafos connected as one would expect.

Because of the custom settings some of the manufacturers set, some models may require specific manual set-up to work. For example, OPPO or VIVO phones require users to manually open the OTG settings, as for security reasons the phone would automatically turn off its OTG after every unplug. Most Android phones such as SAMSUNG, HUAWEI, XIAOMI etc. don't have this issue.

We apologize for the inconvenience, however these are settings set by the manufacturers and are hard for us to work from our end as for this moment.

Will my standard iPhone/USB-C cable work with Lafos?

No. Lafos only work with its own customized cable. Lafos's cable has sets of unique chips built into the tip to ensure video, audio and control signals can stream simultaneously, whereas a standard iPhone/USB-C cable cannot do so. We made one end of the connector different on purpose so our users won't mistakenly use the wrong cable and have to question if the device malfunctioned. If you need additional Lafos cables you could purchase them separately from our shop.

What is the warranty policy?

The hardware product and accessories of Lafos are warranted against defects, malfunctions, and failures for one year from the date of delivery. This warranty does not apply to defects caused by normal wear and tear or due to normal aging of the product, or damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, liquid contact, fire or other external cause. Proof of purchase details may be required for submitting a valid claim under this warranty. International shipping charges may apply depending on location.

What is the return policy?

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You'll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at customer@lafos.com.

If your return is accepted, we'll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

A 15% restocking fee will be applied to return items. Returned items that are damaged, used or missing parts will incur up to a 100% restocking fee.

If your return is not a result of an error of the shop, we won't refund the original shipping fees.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on final sale items or gift cards.

Refunds
We will notify you once we've received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Could my Lafos for Android support iPhone 15 since they all uses USB-C?

No. They run different firmware within the Lafos main body. We have plans to merge them in the future, but as for now they are separate models.

What is the difference between customized connection cable for iPhone 5-14 and customized cable for iPhone 15?

Their end connectors are different. For the customized cable for iPhone 5-14, the end connector uses the legacy connector for iPhone 5-14. For the customized cable for iPhone 15, the end connector uses the USB-C connector.

Why are you running pre-orders for the connection cable?

As Apple just released their latest iPhone 15 Series mid-September, we underwent a lot of engineering and testing since then to ensure Lafos‘s compatibility with iPhone 15 and Android phones. There are different types of chipsets to be tested, and embedded system codes to be written before we go into the injection molding process to make the customized cable.

The Audio, Video and Control transmission of the cable is a delicate process which requires a lot of testing. It would not work with just any standard USB-C Cable. We cannot magically make a cable out of thin air the next month after Apple releases their latest iPhone (as much as we tried). We get access to iPhone 15 the same time as everyone else. Hence the pre-order.

As for now, most testing process are done. We are happy to share with you we have initiated the injection molding process to make the new customized connection cables. However, the manufacturing of the mold itself can take up to 20+ days to complete. After we have the cable, we will send them to our manufacturing facilities to package and have them ready to ship ASAP.
